1.4 Billion Shib Burned In the Last Week
Prepare your mind cuz you’re about to get blown the f away! In the last week alone, over 1.4 billion Shibbies were burned and removed from circulating supply! How do you like that?
The last time the number of $SHIB to be burned over the period of one week overshot the 1 billion zone was almost two weeks ago, on the 18th of July. So, who are the heroes of the day? The pyromaniacs of crypto. The torches that bring light to the realm of crypto during this dark bear season. Turns out they’re several.
ShibaBae Token
This recent newcomer to the crypto scene called ShibaBae Token tops the charts, having sent a whooping 160.54M $SHIB to the burn address in a single transaction that took place earlier on August 27th. That’s all you really need to know.
ShibaBae, being a little squeaky baby of a token (only recently released) is a BEP-20 token working as a burn mechanism for the Shiba Inu token. The ShibaBae team designed the smart contracts to collect funds and use them to buy back $SHIBBAE and burn those funds. For example, 1% of the buy and sell transactions of the token are allocated to the burn of Shiba Inu.
Well, kudos to them.
1Cent Token Burn Event
1Cent Token (why not 50 Cent Token?) is another token focused on burning $SHIB that held a Weekly Burn Event back on Monday. During the party, champagne was served and some 90M Shib were sent away on their merry way inside the dead wallet, along with 60 $BONE and 167 CARDANO tokens. But hey, who cares about those?
Also, we’re still convinced that 50Cent Token would sound so much better.
$SHIB SuperStore
Travis Johnson aka SHIB Super Store doesn’t need any introduction beyond just his name. Everyone in the Shib game knows what that guy is up to in his downtime - setting tons of Shib on fire to Abba’s Waterloo. You know, “the history book on the shelf, it’s always repeating itself…”
Anyway, between running his website, selling dog treats, reaping revenue made through Amazon and other various burn projects, Travis’s latest burn event, held on August 28th, resulted in some 46.6 M $SHIB (worth $569) being decimated and sent to the crypto heaven. Good man!
That's not to say others didn't put in their share of work during the past week's burns. They certainly did! But history only knows the names of the top G's. If we missed your project, kindly let us know about that on Twitter. We'll keep a sharp eye out on you next time.
