William Volk Discussing Shiba Eternity at Gamescom

Author: Firas Ben Jazia

A gaming consultant working alongside PlaySide Studios, William Volk recently attended the 2022 Edition of Gamescom. The goal of his visit was to showcase the long-awaited Shiba Inu game called Shiba Eternity, which is a mobile play-to-earn title that will be part of the larger Shiba Inu ecosystem.

Gamescom is a video game trade fair hosted every year in Cologne, Germany. Run by veterans from the German gaming industry, it is by far one of the largest gaming events worldwide, with hundreds of thousands of visitors attending every year from all over the world. The purpose of William Volk’s visit was to present Shiba Eternity to a wider audience and raise enthusiasm around the Shiba Inu community before the game’s launch worldwide.

Though technically already available in Vietnam, Shiba Eternity has yet to be made public elsewhere. As stated by Volk, the game “will probably come out in September for other regions”, noting that rigorous testing is required before mass launch.

The game is already experiencing a massive adoption after its August testing launch in Vietnam, with its devs increasing the game server capacity by x50 to allow more players to join. Something that Volk noted as “being much more than that”, as reported by Planet Crypto. At press time, the game has over 1000 downloads in Vietnam, and growing.

Reflecting on the upcoming launch of Shibarium, Volk praised the project's benefits, with the major one being its lower energy required per transaction. Being an environmentalist himself, the game developer added that he was happy that people “were moving to Shibarium.”

Prior to his visit, Volk shared an image of two bags he was taking to the fair and asked the Shib community to guess what was inside one of the bags. Naturally, Volk’s tweet sparked quite a speculation spree among his followers, with guesses ranging from “bags full of Shib” to “something that looks like the head of #Shib”.

William Volk is an expert in video game development. Back in 1991, Volk was the VP of Technology at Activision and was the co-founder of the first game released on the Apple Store. Volk is well-known among gamers worldwide and having him present Shiba Eternity will most likely bring more mainstream adoption to the game.
